The Chinese visitor visa (S-visa) is issued to Russian nationals planning to visit relatives who are residing or legally working in China.
There are two types of visitor visas:
S1, or long-term visitor visa, allowing stays in China for up to 180 calendar days;
S2, or short-term visitor visa, allowing stays in China for less than 180 days.
Currently, visa applications for China are processed by consular staff in approximately 3 weeks, depending on urgency, accuracy of submitted documents, and consulate workload. The consulate reserves the right to extend the visa processing time at its discretion by requesting the applicant to come for a personal interview or by asking for additional documents.
You can apply for a Chinese visitor visa at your nearest Chinese embassy or consulate in Moscow, Irkutsk, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, Yekaterinburg, or Khabarovsk.
